The People to People Student Ambassador Program was developed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  The first delegation was assembled in 1963.  Listed below are some  informational highlights available on the People to People website.

People to People Student Ambassadors travel during the summer for 2–3 weeks to learn, share, and represent their country.

Delegations of 30–40 students are led by educators throughout this exciting program.  The People to People Student Ambassador Program provides students a world of international opportunities. It's a travel experience that’s both fun and educational.

Student Ambassadors experience memorable opportunities for personal growth through an enriching program of educational and cultural interaction. Participants gain an appreciation for the world in which they live, build self-confidence, enrich their education, and become more mature and independent.

Students from the U.S. or Canada in grades 6–12, can apply to participate next summer. I would  encourage you to become a Student Ambassador and explore the world next summer.
